English for speakers of other languages (ESOL)

For people whose level of English is below Entry Level 3 and who wish to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain or full Naturalisation.

The learner should complete and achieve an externally accredited ESOL Skills for Life Speaking and Listening unit, delivered in a

citizenship context and using learning materials derived from the “Citizenship materials for ESOL learners” pack produced for the Home Office by NIACE and LLU+.

This should also show progression from one Entry Level to the next.

Learners who achieve this are not required to take The Life in the UK Citizenship test.

All our ESOL provision meets these criteria and is accredited by the National Open College Network.

DEMRP’s Learning for all centre is an accredited college under the criteria laid down by the Home Office.
